Jennifer Bartoli is the voice, recipe developer, photographer and stylist behind Chocolate Shavings. A trained culinary expert, she worked as Food Editor for Canadian Living magazine for just shy of 5 years, helping lead the food strategy for the magazine’s food pages and website. She currently freelances in the food media realm. When she’s not at work, she can most often be found taking photos or cooking up a storm in her home kitchen.
Born and raised in Paris, France you could say good food came with the genes, and it probably did! Jennifer moved to New York City in 2007– after obtaining her Political Science Bachelors from McGill University — to attend culinary school at what is now the International Culinary Center. She’s been working in the food ever since, all while documenting her adventures on this blog.
Jennifer currently resides in Toronto with her partner, and her rambunctious kitten, Nutmeg.
